It’s been about a week now since Target released it’s new fall home collection from Nate Berkus, but I have to say that I am in love with every single piece. I recently stopped by my local Target store and was happy to see there were still some stock left. My favorites? That would be the gold specked table runner, cheeseboard, and bowls and plates sets. I just love the gilded dining ware and the gold, in combination with black and white, makes each piece versatile from fall into the holidays.
Great inspiration for upcoming group dinners and holiday parties!
It’s been another busy week, so I’m sharing some photos from my friend’s baby shower last weekend. It was a gorgeous day and all 20 of us fit in my friend’s backyard. I love all the DIY decor around the house. Great job to my friend Susan for planning this super cute baby shower!
It’s Friday – we made it through the week! How gorgeous is this tabletop arrangement? It looks so inviting and the perfect setup for a cozy dinner party. Check out more details here for how to arrange a similar setting for your next get-together.
Pies, pies, pies. Here’s adding a twist to the mix. How about sweet potato pie?
I just love the color maroon, or pinot noir, or oxblood, however you want to call it. This coat is on my wishlist for sure.
I truly love winter whites and the white on white look. Especially this pretty lace outfit and this chic ensemble.
If you always wanted to know how to do a smokey eye step-by-step, look no further! For the pros, this is a quick refresher.
Cardigans are making a major comeback. Loved how Apartment 34 styled hers in this fun and glam photo shoot.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone, whether you are flying home, out and about town, or staying in! xoxo
Remember how I wrote about my fall to-do list in this post? Well, this past weekend I visited Bob’s Vegetable and Pumpkin Farm out in Half Moon Bay. Pumpkin patch visit? Check! We picked a crisp, fall day and while a bit cool, the day turned out beautiful and golden with plenty of sun. Half Moon Bay is a fun area to visit if you’re ever in the Bay Area. From surfing to eating fresh seafood (try the clam chowder at Sam’s Chowder House) to biking and strolling along the beach, the area is a perfect weekend destination for locals and visitors alike. We decided to spend an entire day in Half Moon Bay and also grabbed some coffee and dessert at the gorgeous Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay hotel.
Hope you had a great weekend and thank you for stopping by!

What’s on your to-do list this Fall?
One of my favorite cocktails of all time…the whiskey sour! And it’s easy to make. Happy Thirsty Thursday!
1.5 oz whiskey
1.5 oz lemon juice
3/4 oz simple syrup
Maraschino cherry or other fruit to garnish
This week the hubby and I went over to our friend’s house for dinner. It was a fun evening of delicious food, great conversation, and fantastic wine. As a guest I wanted to add something to the evening but didn’t want to bring the usual bottle of wine. Here are some ideas that I thought of that night…
For a Foodie Couple:
-Offer to create your signature cocktail for dinner-
For a Fashionista Couple:
-Summery nail polish for her, leather bracelet for him-
For a Decorista Couple:
-Flowers for the table-
-Decorative Bar Soap-
What would you bring to a dinner party? Guess which ‘gift’ I brought to my friend’s this week!

I am thinking of throwing an Easter Sunday brunch this year for some close friends and have just started perusing sites for some table setting inspiration. Ever since I moved into my new town house, I’ve been endlessly on the hunt for beautiful, modern tableware. In the beginning I started with all-white, minimalist dinnerware so that I could let the food really shine. Then, over the most recent holidays, I was drawn to clean, contemporary lines. These days, I find myself gravitating towards the ‘mix & match’ concept: pair modern with a little traditional, juxtapose classic with a little edgy.
After browsing Better Homes & Gardens for some ideas, I came across the two table sets above. Love. them. The first setting is mostly classic white and sleek, allowing the cool-colored confetti ring to stand out as the centerpiece. Classic cool. In the second set, the mostly warm-colored placemat and floral plate paired with crisp gray linen set the stage for an inviting meal. Traditional with a twist. Which one do you prefer? Do you mix & match your home decor?
To get the creative juices flowing, here are some dinnerware sets that I adore from two of my favorite stores to find house/home items…bold, bright and just great works of art!

For those who are throwing an Oscars viewing party this weekend or just want to make your at-home experience a little more fun and festive, here are my ingredients for an easy breezy Oscars party:
1. Throw up some gold and silver balloons = instant flash of celebration.
2. Use colorful straws to accompany your beverages and put a bow-tie on them.
3. No Oscars party is complete without some champagne. Go on, get bubbly.
4. Instead of slaving away in the kitchen making a large meal, bring out the sugar and snacks.
5. And if you really want to get into the celebratory mood, don a fantastic dress!
Have a great weekend everyone!
