Good morning! Here’s another bold-colored, fall dress I wore over the weekend while on the east coast. I love the shape of this dress: the boat neck shoulders moving to a sleek pencil skirt at the bottom. It was perfect for the warm weather we were experiencing in New Jersey. While I don’t normally wear head-to-toe red, this red was the right shade of bright and warm…and quite eye-catching!
So close to the weekend!

Happy Tuesday! Sorry, it has been quiet over here at Morning Espresso. I’ve been juggling a bunch of activities this past week and a half, mostly a busy work schedule and also travels to the east coast on the weekends. Fall is in the air! Above I’m attending the wedding rehearsal of one of my good friends from graduate school. I was in New Jersey and the air turned crisp in the evenings. I decided to wear a bold fall color — mustard yellow — for the occasion. As you can see, I’m still in love with my Proenza Schouler clutch and have been carrying it around with me everywhere. I have to say that while it has been a whirlwind September with all my travels, I am happy to be home for the next several weeks!
Hope you are having a great week!

Happy Monday! I am currently in NYC enjoying a short break from work. We attended my good college friend’s gorgeous wedding in Riverhead, NY. It felt like I was back in wine country in California. My amazing friend and the bride, Charlotte, did a lot of the decor and design herself. So creative and beautiful. It was a wonderful wedding and a chance for me to catch up with many friends who live on the east coast and whom I went to school with. I am an east coast girl at heart and it feels great to be back!
I’m currently sitting in a coffee shop owned by a high school classmate, Gregory Zamfotis, called Gregory’s Coffee. And where else but in the Fashion District! This has been a dream of his and I’m really happy he’s made it happen. I had the espresso (of course) and it was really good. Stop by if you’re ever in the Big Apple.
Hope you are having a good start to the week. I head back to the Bay Area tomorrow! xoxo

Happy Monday! I am writing to you from sunny Los Angeles. A good friend of mine got hitched this weekend in downtown LA at a gorgeous venue called Vibiana. The couple did such a beautiful job with the wedding. From the fresh, white flower arrangements, to the outdoor posh cocktail hour, to inviting an Indonesian popstar to entertain guests, the wedding was a dazzling event (not to mention the stylish individuals that studded the guest list!).
I wore this floor length BCBG Max Azria dress to the wedding. It fit like a glove in the store and I just knew this was the one. With peplum details at the waist and cut-outs in the back, the dress is both modern and sophisticated. Love!
Hope you are having a great start to your week so far and that the next couple of days are filled with love, laughter, and lots of family time!
Thanks for supporting my blog and taking the time to stop by each day!

Finally back from Cleveland and celebrating with my friends Susan Guo and Patrick Chan! The wedding was held at the The Ritz Carlton in Cleveland, OH. What an elegant and fun wedding. My friends and I stayed on the dance floor until the very last song. Here are a couple of quick snapshots of the dress and accessories I wore for the wedding.
Happy Tuesday! This week has been all about wrapping up loose ends at work before I leave for Europe tomorrow! xoxo
It’s been a while since I’ve done a ‘happy weekend’ post to wrap up the week! Let’s start this post by saying, TGIF. TGIF. Friday came by super fast which means it was a busy week…
I am heading to Cleveland this weekend for my childhood friend’s wedding! Weddings are like reunions with a spotlight on the happy couple. I’m looking forward to celebrating with Susan x Patrick, wishing them a lifetime of wedded bliss and catching up with ‘ole elementary school friends. When I get back, I’ll be counting down to my honeymoon! A bit ironic?
Some links for you to enjoy over the weekend:
1. Can’t get enough of maxi dresses. Flowly, comfortable, from casual to elegant, a maxi dress is the summer staple! Love this one from Tart Collections.
2. Any iced coffee drinkers out there? I find that as the temperatures heat up, I crave iced coffee. Here is a splendid recipe from Health magazine on how to make the *perfect* iced coffee. The genius part? Use coffee iced cubes, instead of regular ones. No more watered down coffee!
3. From delicate to statement necklaces, what’s your style? (Ok to answer all of the above)
4. Beautiful house tour of Pastry chef and writer Eva Daiberl’s Chicago townhouse out at The Everygirl. Love her bar cart! And all those amazing flowers…
5. It’s peonies season! Check out Late Afternoon’s post on two-toned peonies and how to make these beauties last.
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and thanks for stopping by the blog!
How was your weekend? I had a whirlwind weekend filled with wedding festivities, trying out Drybar (a blowdry bar), and a work party/bbq. Phew, it was tough to get up this morning!
A couple of photos from this past weekend’s wedding extravaganza. My close friend from college got married at St. Matthew’s Church in San Mateo and ended the evening with an amazing reception party at The Box SF. I have yet to go through all the photos from the weekend…stay tuned for more photos!

Hello! I am back from a whirlwind weekend in Houston, TX. It was an amazing weekend: reuniting with my childhood girlfriends, catching up on their lives, exploring Houston and getting a taste of Texas bbq. Best of all, I had so much fun being a part of my best friend’s wedding! Above are some Instagram photos from the weekend. I’m trying something different today and using a slideshow to showcase the photos. What do you think….yay or nay?
1. The bride getting ready.
2. Beautiful lace on the wedding dress.
3. Gorgeous aqua-colored lake at the wedding venue (La Tranquila Ranch).
4. Fresh manicure and new Coach wristlet (love).
5. Sunday brunch outfit.
6. Mexican appetizers.
7. Bright rugs in the hotel lobby.
Back to reality…hope your week is off to a great start!
My best friend since 3rd grade, Cindy, is getting married this weekend! The weekend’s festivities are in Houston, TX. Congrats Cindy!! Wishing you and Kevin many, many years of love and happiness!
