I’m still sifting through our photos from our Sonoma trip during Labor Day weekend. We visited Matanzas Creek Winery in Santa Rosa on our first day and fell in love with their white varietals. We had some of the best white wines on the trip from Matanzas Creek Winery. There was the crisp Sauvignon Blanc bursting with nectarine, grapefruit and guava, and the bright Chardonnay filled with aromas of candied fruit and flowers. So good.
This was also a beautiful winery. I took the opportunity to roam and dance within the lavender garden and had such a great time. I could have stayed out in the gardens all day if the temps weren’t in the upper 90s. We decided to eat our lunch in their patio area which turned out to be very quaint.
Needless to say, we went home with several bottles of wine and as I’m sitting here writing this, can’t wait to have some friends over to drink this wine!

Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a long, relaxing weekend. We did our second road trip this summer up to wine country where we stayed mostly in Sonoma. It was a fabulous weekend of wine tasting, lazy afternoons by the pool, and early dinners at some of the best restaurants in the area.
These photos were taken during our second day, wine tasting at Gundlach Bundschu. It’s one of my favorite wineries — I love their Gewurztraminer — and our little family of three had a fun picnic on the winery grounds. It was a sweltering day (all weekend we were in the 90s) so I kept cool all day in my off-the-shoulder dress from Chicwish.
More wine and good food from Sonoma coming up later this week! How was your long weekend?

A little over a week ago, I co-hosted a baby shower for my wonderful college friend, Susan, who is having a baby girl. It was held in her gorgeous and lush backyard and as you can see, the theme was “Baby-Q”. Susan loves farm animals so we tried to incorporate animals into the decor (how cute are those goody-bags?) . The expecting couple also love to travel so we had a framed picture of the Eiffel Tower (in pink of course) and asked all the guests to sign the ‘guestbook’. It makes for a perfect addition to the baby girl’s nursery. All in all, a sweet and fun afternoon celebrating Susan, her husband, and the arrival of their baby.
I recently discovered a Parisian-inspired line called Maison Jules (exclusively sold at Macy’s) and just love the entire collection, especially the dresses. They recently had a big summer sale and I scooped up several of the dresses including the pink gingham maxi dress above. I love it when I discover a new brand and fall in love with everything. Fall items are in stock now so away we go shopping!

Summer is all about having fun outdoors, under the sun. A couple of weeks ago, some friends invited us out for a relaxing picnic at a local park. It was the perfect lazy afternoon activity. We had a delicious spread of international food (German, Indian, Italian), sangria, wine, and dessert. A game of frisbee was underway on one end of the park. Babies met each other for the first time under the shade of a tree. We all left smiling and happy and agreed to come together again for future picnics once a month. Cheers to summer!
Hope you all had a great weekend! It’s always hard to jump back into the swing of things especially after a long weekend. Given that I am almost 38 weeks pregnant, I tried to rest as much as I could over the last few days, catching up on reading, doing light housework in prep for baby’s arrival, and enjoying time with the hubby over brunch and romantic dinners.
Our Valentine’s Day was low key, but still very sweet this year. I picked up this cute t-shirt from Mom’s the Word, a boutique maternity clothing store that I’ve raved about in previous posts. I knew this would be the perfect Valentine’s Day outfit. I started the day with a much needed pedicure. We strolled through our local farmer’s market, grabbed a late lunch, took a nap, and ended the day with a dinner date. The weather was gorgeous to boot (a sunny 75 degrees)!
Now, it’s back to work for a couple more weeks…have a wonderful day!

I’ve been pretty good about my what I consume these days, given that I’m growing a baby. Vitamin-packed cereals, a glass of milk, yogurt, fresh fruit, these are what I normally eat for breakfast on any given day. Once in a while though, the sweet tooth and sugar craving rush in and I’ll diverge from the healthy stuff. This past weekend, we went to grab brunch at one of my favorite French cafes in the area, Douce France. Their croissants are to die for and their cappuccinos are perfection. Albeit small, it was one of the best breakfasts in a while. (Note: I have not been drinking caffeine since the beginning of pregnancy, but once in a blue moon, I’ll have a few sips.) It’s the little things…
Hope you’re having a great week!
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and long weekend to unwind and relax with family and friends. Can you believe we are in a brand new month already? It will be Christmas soon in three weeks!
We took advantage of the long weekend to spend some time in Southern California with family and friends. With the great weather in California, we filled our days with outdoors-y activities – swimming (yes, it was 80+ for two days), biking, visiting museums, etc. It felt so good to close the laptop for a few days.
Now that we’re back, I feel refreshed to begin another busy work week. I did catch a small cold over the weekend so I’ll be drinking up on fluids and getting myself back to normal.
Have a great start to your week!

Happy Monday! One of the activities my mommy friends recommended that we do before the baby gets here is to go out and enjoy as many movies–in theaters–as we can. So with the big Interstellar opening up last weekend, we thought we’d go out for a casual movie date. At the risk of giving up too much plot information, I won’t give my review of the movie here, but I will say…go and see it! At about 3 hours, it is long, but a great film touching upon not just science and outer space, but also family and love, touching all emotions.
On another note, my growing belly is getting bigger by the day and I’m constantly updating my wardrobe to accommodate for it. So far, I’ve loved shopping online — it really saves time. And time is such a luxury these days. I’m trying to push myself to do more posts going forward and apologize for how quiet it’s been on the homefront.
Hope you’re having a great start to the week!

Happy Wednesday! It continues to be a crazy week in the work department, so I treasure the days (mostly weekends) when I have some down time and can just sit with a magazine and read to my heart’s content. I know it’s only Wednesday, but I’m looking forward to the weekend already!
My bump is growing ever so much each week and today I hit 21 weeks. I’ve been wearing shift dresses non-stop because it’s such a cinch to put on in the morning and 9.9 out of 10 times, the dress fits! Here I am captured under another sunny day in one of my new favorite striped dresses with faux leather trim sleeves. I am ready to leave the house to play some mini golf. Since it was going to be a big walking day, I wore my Converse All-Stars. A chic, but functional and sporty look, no?
Hope you are having a great day!

Good morning! Here’s another bold-colored, fall dress I wore over the weekend while on the east coast. I love the shape of this dress: the boat neck shoulders moving to a sleek pencil skirt at the bottom. It was perfect for the warm weather we were experiencing in New Jersey. While I don’t normally wear head-to-toe red, this red was the right shade of bright and warm…and quite eye-catching!
So close to the weekend!
