It’s Thursday…which means #tbt… to a recent luxurious meal in wine country. If you’ve never been to FARM restaurant at The Carneros Inn, I highly recommend it. I saved the dinner bill for this meal so that I could remember the delicious glass of red wine I had with my meal. It was that good. The evening started early (a la 5 pm since we had baby in tow) with some cocktails at the outdoor lounge area. With a relaxed atmosphere, comfy sofas, and inviting fireplaces, life couldn’t get any better.
For dinner we sat in the patio area continuing to enjoy the warm Napa evening. We ate the full 3 course menu, starting with salads to whet the appetite, then I had the filet mignon while hubby opted for the lamb. Both were superb. We ended the meal with some ice cream (it was still quite hot out at 7 pm) and cappuccinos. All in all, a great experience and we look forward to going back!

I’m still sifting through our photos from our Sonoma trip during Labor Day weekend. We visited Matanzas Creek Winery in Santa Rosa on our first day and fell in love with their white varietals. We had some of the best white wines on the trip from Matanzas Creek Winery. There was the crisp Sauvignon Blanc bursting with nectarine, grapefruit and guava, and the bright Chardonnay filled with aromas of candied fruit and flowers. So good.
This was also a beautiful winery. I took the opportunity to roam and dance within the lavender garden and had such a great time. I could have stayed out in the gardens all day if the temps weren’t in the upper 90s. We decided to eat our lunch in their patio area which turned out to be very quaint.
Needless to say, we went home with several bottles of wine and as I’m sitting here writing this, can’t wait to have some friends over to drink this wine!

Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a long, relaxing weekend. We did our second road trip this summer up to wine country where we stayed mostly in Sonoma. It was a fabulous weekend of wine tasting, lazy afternoons by the pool, and early dinners at some of the best restaurants in the area.
These photos were taken during our second day, wine tasting at Gundlach Bundschu. It’s one of my favorite wineries — I love their Gewurztraminer — and our little family of three had a fun picnic on the winery grounds. It was a sweltering day (all weekend we were in the 90s) so I kept cool all day in my off-the-shoulder dress from Chicwish.
More wine and good food from Sonoma coming up later this week! How was your long weekend?

Summer is all about having fun outdoors, under the sun. A couple of weeks ago, some friends invited us out for a relaxing picnic at a local park. It was the perfect lazy afternoon activity. We had a delicious spread of international food (German, Indian, Italian), sangria, wine, and dessert. A game of frisbee was underway on one end of the park. Babies met each other for the first time under the shade of a tree. We all left smiling and happy and agreed to come together again for future picnics once a month. Cheers to summer!
Happy Monday! Sharing some photos captured on Instagram from the last two weeks. Some are from my Labor Day weekend trip to Carmel and the rest are from this past weekend’s getaway up to Sonoma.
Have a great start to the week!
Happy Monday! I am currently in NYC enjoying a short break from work. We attended my good college friend’s gorgeous wedding in Riverhead, NY. It felt like I was back in wine country in California. My amazing friend and the bride, Charlotte, did a lot of the decor and design herself. So creative and beautiful. It was a wonderful wedding and a chance for me to catch up with many friends who live on the east coast and whom I went to school with. I am an east coast girl at heart and it feels great to be back!
I’m currently sitting in a coffee shop owned by a high school classmate, Gregory Zamfotis, called Gregory’s Coffee. And where else but in the Fashion District! This has been a dream of his and I’m really happy he’s made it happen. I had the espresso (of course) and it was really good. Stop by if you’re ever in the Big Apple.
Hope you are having a good start to the week. I head back to the Bay Area tomorrow! xoxo

Continuing on the birthday celebrations in Napa last weekend. Spent a wonderful day playing winemaker for a day by blending cabernet sauvignons, merlot, and cabernet franc at Raymond Vineyards. It was so fun and educational plus the property is gorgeous with a beautiful farm. Definitely right up this wine enthusiast’s alley. I highly recommend it!

It’s been a super busy week thus far at work. Here are some Instagram snapshots of the last couple of days. Photos are from a recent trip to Vegas (I was able to drive a Ferrari!), a wine tasting, delicious desserts, and other fun times from my weekends. Enjoy and please follow me at EspressowithEm on Instagram for more recent photos!
Hope you are having a wonderful week! xoxo
Happy Autumn! We had the first rain of the season this past weekend on Saturday. When the sun came out and shined brightly on Sunday, I took the opportunity to go out for a hike and then met an old friend for a glass of vino in Mountain View. It was nostalgic going back to Savvy Cellar Wine Bar & Wine Shop, since that was my old haunt when hubby and I were planning for this summer’s Europe trip. I finally pulled the trigger and bought these amazing Prada sunglasses (be prepared to see these more often) and also took these glam Baublebar earrings for a spin.
It was a windy day, but as you can see, I was thoroughly enjoying the time!
