Happy New Year’s Eve!

Happy New Year’s Eve!  I’m wearing my Christmas colors here for my little niece’s choral concert last week.  It was such a bright and beautiful warm day in Thousand Oaks, CA.  Although it was a bit windy as you can see from my wild hair.

Hope everyone has a fun, absolutely glam, and safe New Year’s Eve!  I’ll be heading to dinner then over to a friend’s house for a NYE party.  Bring out the bubbly!

Winter Neutrals

This time of year, nothing says “it’s the holidays” quite like a cashmere sweater and cashmere accessories!  Though we are not experiencing a snow storm as my family and friends out in the East Coast and Midwest are, it’s definitely still sweater weather around here.  Each here, I tend to add a cashmere item or two during the winter, especially around the holidays.

Here, I’m really loving the tone-on-tone neutrals of my cashmere sweater and scarf, letting my statement necklace shine on its own.  Pairing the warm colors of the top with a dark green wool skirt just feels very festive…this would be a great Christmas day look!

Have a great Tuesday and thanks for stopping by the blog!

Print Perfection

I love a print dress that has a unique pattern and lives in beautiful colors.  This BCBG Max Azria is a favorite of mine: a feminine yet sleek silhouette with a geometric print and contrasting band lines.  We had 80 degree weather this past weekend, so I brought this dress back out for a spin.

How was your weekend?  The hubby and I went bowling for the first time in the five years that we have known each other.  Little did each of us know that the other has a knack for the sport!  We’ll definitely be bowling again real soon.

Hope your day is off to a great start and thank you for stopping by!  Come visit me on Instagram and on Twitter (EspressowithEm)!

Denim on Denim

Pairing denim with denim is just the perfect staple.  An almost neutral palette, it allows you to add color in many ways–in this case, a pair of orange patent pumps and some pink lips and accessories.  I would love to wear this again with a bright blazer and beige or black heels.  Also, this is one of the few times I put my hair up…had to, it was very warm outside!

What is your staple look?

Sparkle, Sparkle

Happy 1st of October!  Wow, how time flies.  To celebrate the new month, I decided to wear this jeweled short-sleeve sweatshirt.

It’s hard to tell in the photo, but the jewels have a purple hue and are hand-sewn onto the shirt.  The perfect combination of luxe and laid-back.

It’s going to be a busy month coming up, both in and outside of work, but I’m looking forward to every minute of it!

Thanks for stopping by! xoxo

Date Night

Hope you all had a great weekend!  After a long work week last week, I was looking forward to date night with my hubby on Saturday.  We went to a local Italian restaurant (Cafe Torre) and had some amazing pasta and seafood.  I decided to go smart casual for dinner, wearing some new jeans from J. Crew, a lace peplum top (recent favorite!), and a cropped white blazer.  I brought out my new Chanel bag and kept accessories minimal.  The weekend flew by way too fast!

Life’s Little Gems

Baublebar: Yellow Bumble Strand, Ivory Dragonfly Bib

J. Crew: Crystal Compilation Necklace, Crystal Drops Necklace

Sending you off this weekend with some gorgeous candy-colored gemstone necklaces!  My way of dressing these beauties?  Keep ’em guessing by throwing on a pair of shorts, loose sweatshirt in a solid neutral color, and top it off with a necklace.

Monogram Everything

I know we are past the gift-giving frenzy of the holidays, but there is one gift-giving trend for 2013 that has caught my attention.  The monogrammed gift.  Monogrammed gifts provide an extra touch of personalization for ‘that someone special’ and I’ve been seeing initials on everything–from mugs to jewelry to shirts.  I remember when I was younger and would go to stores like Things Remembered to get items monogrammed for my family and friends.  It just made my gift more unique (and also showed I put some thought into the gift!).  Well, I personally like this idea and would love to buy one or two Anthropologie mugs below.

While the holidays may be over, there is that one ‘holiday’ coming up dedicated to you and your special someone where you might want to think about gifting something personalized.  Valentine’s Day.  Too early?

Checkered & Blue

I had my own ‘photoshoot’ fun yesterday wearing some new blue suede pumps I bought over the holidays.  This cobalt blue color is so striking and I can definitely see myself wearing these heels with many other outfits.  Back to work today…hope you’re having a great day!

Into the Blue

Happy New Year’s Eve everyone!  Counting down to midnight has begun.

I spent my last Sunday in 2012 taking a stroll through San Francisco’s Ferry Building.  It was a gorgeous afternoon to walk around, grab a coffee, people watch, and visit all my favorite food vendors and stores in the Ferry Building.  How did you all spend your last weekend in 2012?  Hope you and yours have a wonderful New Year’s and best wishes in the new year!
