This past weekend, we took our nieces out for a day at LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art). I’ve always loved going to art museums since I was a little girl and thought this would be a fun and educational way to spend time with the nieces. The museum itself is quite large, encompassing several buildings with multiple floors of work within each building. We must have walked 3-4 miles that day! As expected, we were not allowed to take any pictures inside the museum buildings so we only have shots outside in the courtyard area. It truly was an educational experience — we covered samurai art, German Cinema in the 1920s, Jazz Age Modernist art, photography from California photographer Larry Sultan, among others. I highly recommend heading over to LACMA the next time you are in LA.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and long weekend to unwind and relax with family and friends. Can you believe we are in a brand new month already? It will be Christmas soon in three weeks!
We took advantage of the long weekend to spend some time in Southern California with family and friends. With the great weather in California, we filled our days with outdoors-y activities – swimming (yes, it was 80+ for two days), biking, visiting museums, etc. It felt so good to close the laptop for a few days.
Now that we’re back, I feel refreshed to begin another busy work week. I did catch a small cold over the weekend so I’ll be drinking up on fluids and getting myself back to normal.
Have a great start to your week!

Oh what a night…and what a weekend it was.
I had a belated birthday celebration with friends this past weekend. From dinner and drinks in San Francisco to a full day in Napa, I celebrated to the fullest. While we all become a year older with each birthday, it’s also an occasion to call all your friends and hang out together. I truly cherish each one of my friends and thank them for caring about me on this special day and through the rest of the year.
It was a cooler night on Saturday so I decided on this white blazer-lace tee-slouchy jean combo. I just love this look — it’s a perfect go-to and there are so many ways to create the look.
Hope your weekend was wonderful. Have a great start to the week!

Especially on casual days, a touch of Chanel instantly makes an outfit classy. I’ve been living in chunky sweaters and comfy jeans these days as we get through some cloudy weather (I know, nothing to complain about compared to all that snow to the east), so adding pops of color or a nice bag/shoe really jazzes up the look. Look whose working both here!
Who else is happy the weekend is almost here? Have a great day!

Happy Monday! I’m getting a head start on one of my favorite spring trends: pastels! I don’t normally wear a lot of pink, but a pale, blush pink is just a beautiful color right now and a perfect color topper for a black and white ensemble. I’ve also styled this coat with a more colorful outfit as seen here.
Hope you had a good weekend! Mine was relaxing and I spent some downtime catching up on favorite reads. I’m also really into trying new recipes and have been dabbling with the delicious ones in the Bon Appetit magazine. I hope to share some successes on the blog soon!

Although the work week has just begun, it’s already getting really busy! The next few weeks will be full of networking receptions, conferences, training classes, happy hours, and work trips. With a more hectic schedule, it’s great that I can incorporate some casual elements to my work wardrobe. For example, this bright and poppy fuchsia sweater would pair well with a dark knee length skirt. Comfortable chic…a good motto to have!
One side note…I’m hoping all my friends out in the Midwest, particularly Chicago, are keeping warm in the freezing weather!

It’s already shaping up to be another busy week! Working with a black, gray and white palette makes dressing super simple in the mornings. Off to go grab a much-needed coffee before I start my day! xoxo

Another crazy work week is underway already! Yet I will have no fear as I power through the days in my favorite work wear and get myself to meetings on time with my new Timex Fly-Back Chronograph watch. I’m all set!
