Happy new year! 2014 was a great year, and here’s to 2015 being even better! Wishing you even more success, love, and happiness in this new year. xoxo
Happy Independence Day from Taiwan! Since we are one day ahead here, I’m wishing you all a happy 4th today. In honor of the holiday, here are my picks for patriotic dresses you can wear on the 4th.
We made it to Friday! It has been a long, but good first week back from the holidays. It’s been a while since I’ve shared some Instagram photos. In case you haven’t been to EspressowithEm on Instagram, here’s what I’ve been up to during the past few weeks. Hmm, a lot of espresso/coffee was consumed!
Have a fantastic weekend everyone! xoxo
Happy Friday! I am finishing off my round-up of photos from our LA trip with some of the “sights and sounds” of the areas we visited. From my good friend’s beautiful wedding to visiting Griffith Observatory, I must say this has been one of our most fun-filled trips to the City of Angels. We can’t wait to go back!
Thanks for reading and supporting Morning Espresso this past year. Here’s to more amazing moments and to believing anything is possible in 2014! Have a wonderful weekend! xoxo
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Wishing you a warm and festive holiday with your friends and family.
Thank you for your love and support of Morning Espresso!
While the color wheel on red and pink may be on top of everyone’s mind for Valentine’s day, I have another “holiday” in mind, one that is coming up in two days. Chinese New Year. It’s not an official US holiday, but in Asia it is the mother of all holidays. Think the Christmas season in the states. I thought I would use today’s post to share a few traditions that I’ll be wearing, making and eating for Chinese New Year.
For New Year’s Eve dinner, I have two words: abundance and abundance. There are several signature dishes such as fish, noodles, sweet red bean cake, etc., and each represents a good wish for the year.
Oodles of noodles for long life
Dumplings for wealth and prosperity
House decorating (and the obligatory cleaning) is another activity that happens around Chinese New Year. There are many options from putting up paper goods to festive ornaments.
Good luck ornaments (in both red and gold) to adorn the house
For those who are celebrating, happy Chinese New Year!

Hope everyone had the merriest Christmas and spent lots of quality time and laughs with your loved ones! I know I did. I am currently still in LA enjoying the sun rays and ocean views from our hotel. How great is this view?
I wore this outfit on Christmas Eve. A bright red-orange cropped pant was my starting piece and I added a creme button down and two-toned heels to complete the look. The pants were surprisingly super comfy and stretched at the waist to fit all the food I ate!
Hope you are enjoying your holidays!
I’m headed to LA this weekend to celebrate Christmas with the family. I’ve been waiting patiently for this trip yet have already begun packing! Since I will be spending much needed play time with four nieces (three of them are triplets!) I will be keeping the outfits comfortable and casual. For fun and since it is the holidays, I will be throwing in a few accessories into the mix. The A-thread necklace has been on repeat this month, because, well, it’s such a pretty statement piece! I love this Gorjana wrap bracelet (sold out for now, but check their website here). It is super chic and versatile. The Baublebar jewelry and Coach purse are brand new so check back to see how I will be styling them!
Hope y’all have a wonderful holiday and spend lots of quality time with family and friends! I will be posting tomorrow, but will be taking a break on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Have a happy Friday!
When you think about it, there is color everywhere during the holiday season: reds, greens, golds, silvers (on Christmas trees, party decor, gift wrapping, etc). How beautiful is an all-white outfit? One of the best times of the year to wear white is during the winter months. After all, we do have a term ‘winter white’ dedicated to wearing white when it’s cold outside!
To me, an all-white ensemble conjures a dreamy, romantic holiday. I would accessorize with silver or gold jewelry and to add a little luxe, throw in some sequins. Something to try for a Christmas dinner-for-two with you and your main squeeze!
Happy Friday! I’ve been in Los Angeles this week on a business trip, and am finally getting around to a much needed post. We are less than a week away from Thanksgiving and I will be hosting two dinner parties in my home (yikes). Although the turkey and stuffing prep has not yet begun, I do know that I will be crafting up some cocktails from this lovely William Yeoward book. Besides the eye-popping, luxurious photos that accompany the recipes, the cocktails are refreshing and timeless. It is a must-have for your bar cart repertoire. After all, the subtitle does emphasize that this collection brings you “the world’s most glamorous cocktails”. Bring a little glam to entertaining? Perfect!
You can purchase the book online at Amazon. Hope you all have fun prepping, sipping, and counting down the days until turkey day!
