Now that we’re a few days into the new year, I gave my blog a slight makeover with a new background theme. How do y’all like it?? I like a background that is minimal, sleek, and is mostly black and white so that it really allows the photos to stand out. We’ll give this a shot and see how it goes.
Today’s outfit is an oldie, but goodie. Pair a printed blouse with a sweater and slacks. Add staple pumps. Throw in a statement necklace for kicks. I’m channeling some working girl vibes and ready to go to work!

I had my own ‘photoshoot’ fun yesterday wearing some new blue suede pumps I bought over the holidays. This cobalt blue color is so striking and I can definitely see myself wearing these heels with many other outfits. Back to work today…hope you’re having a great day!

Happy New Year’s Eve everyone! Counting down to midnight has begun.
I spent my last Sunday in 2012 taking a stroll through San Francisco’s Ferry Building. It was a gorgeous afternoon to walk around, grab a coffee, people watch, and visit all my favorite food vendors and stores in the Ferry Building. How did you all spend your last weekend in 2012? Hope you and yours have a wonderful New Year’s and best wishes in the new year!

Happy Friday! What is everyone up to for New Year’s Eve? Cocktail party? Throwing a dinner? Cozy night in? This year, I am planning on donning something sparkly, whether it be the dress or the accessories. I’m thinking sequins and jeweled tops or some lace and glittery baubles.
Here are my picks for New Year’s party attire for whatever you decide to do:
1. For the cocktail party, pair a glittery flared skirt with black accents.
2. For the hostess with the most-ess who is throwing a dinner party, keep it simple with this sequin stripe tee and a bold colored skirt.
3. If NYE is a cozy night in for you, throw on an embellished tunic with some leggings. Comfy and festive all in one.
And your other best accessory? Some champagne!
Hope everyone had the merriest Christmas and spent lots of quality time and laughs with your loved ones! I know I did. I am currently still in LA enjoying the sun rays and ocean views from our hotel. How great is this view?
I wore this outfit on Christmas Eve. A bright red-orange cropped pant was my starting piece and I added a creme button down and two-toned heels to complete the look. The pants were surprisingly super comfy and stretched at the waist to fit all the food I ate!
Hope you are enjoying your holidays!
When you think about it, there is color everywhere during the holiday season: reds, greens, golds, silvers (on Christmas trees, party decor, gift wrapping, etc). How beautiful is an all-white outfit? One of the best times of the year to wear white is during the winter months. After all, we do have a term ‘winter white’ dedicated to wearing white when it’s cold outside!
To me, an all-white ensemble conjures a dreamy, romantic holiday. I would accessorize with silver or gold jewelry and to add a little luxe, throw in some sequins. Something to try for a Christmas dinner-for-two with you and your main squeeze!

My holiday soiree is tonight! I have been on a roll as a party hostess this holiday season. This will be the third cocktail party/dinner/get-together I’ll have hosted before Christmas. While I had plenty of planning for the last two (those were during the 4-day long Thanksgiving weekend), for tonight’s, not so much. But with some holiday DIY, easy recipes, and adding some sparkle to a favorite dress, I think I’ll be okay. The best part that I’m looking forward to tonight? Seeing my BFF! She’s coming from Texas with her fiance to attend and hang out. Cannot wait to catch up over some champagne.
Drum roll please…have a look at my inspiration for this soiree:
1. Loving this Madewell emerald dress (Pantone’s 2013 color!) paired with a jewel-toned barrette. Image from Lucky Magazine.
2. Channeling some holiday DIY from Iowa Girl Eats. Spruce and Berry Filled Mason Jars: easy, simple, and a whole lotta fun!
3. Chocolate Fondue! Probably second on my list of what I’m looking forward to tonight. I am a chocolate lover through and through and I can’t wait to dip a strawberry in some luscious, milky soft chocolate. Totally worth skipping dinner for! Here is a recipe I like.
Happy party season!

While shopping for some cashmere and wool sweaters this past weekend, I couldn’t help but get drawn to these cute and playful sweaters. From cats to hens, these creative sweaters are popping up everywhere! I might just have to add one of these patterns to my repertoire. While not the most suitable for consultant day-time wear, they are the perfect casual Friday attire paired with jeans. Definitely changes up the regular black and gray sweater colors. What say you? Go or no go?
Hello from New Jersey! I am in the dirty Jersey this weekend to get in some family time and also attend a good college friend’s wedding. It has been pretty chilly here these last few days and I am so glad I packed my wool snood and cashmere sweaters. I’ll be going to NYC tonight for dinner and for some catching up with girlfriends. (can’t wait!)
So far the trip has me thinking about how to dress fashionably in this cold weather…and one of my favorite looks this season is a sweater and a skirt! Have a look-see at some fun options:
