My little nugget is 2.5 weeks old today. I found a couple of more photos from my 40th week that never made it to the blog. Can’t believe I was 40 weeks then and now we have a fast growing baby on our hands. How time flies! Each day goes by like a blur and I sometimes forget what day of the week it is. It’s been a lot of hard work, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Happy Thursday!
I hope all of you are having a great week so far. It’s ramping up to be a busy one for me – such is the holiday time crunch! These photos were taken during our last days in LA in one of my favorite spots, Santa Monica. There’s no trip to LA without a stop into one of my favorite cafes, Demitasse, and a walk down 3rd Street Promenade. We usually end our day with a cocktail at the Huntley Hotel, but that will have to wait until next time.
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by the blog!
This past weekend, we took our nieces out for a day at LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art). I’ve always loved going to art museums since I was a little girl and thought this would be a fun and educational way to spend time with the nieces. The museum itself is quite large, encompassing several buildings with multiple floors of work within each building. We must have walked 3-4 miles that day! As expected, we were not allowed to take any pictures inside the museum buildings so we only have shots outside in the courtyard area. It truly was an educational experience — we covered samurai art, German Cinema in the 1920s, Jazz Age Modernist art, photography from California photographer Larry Sultan, among others. I highly recommend heading over to LACMA the next time you are in LA.
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and long weekend to unwind and relax with family and friends. Can you believe we are in a brand new month already? It will be Christmas soon in three weeks!
We took advantage of the long weekend to spend some time in Southern California with family and friends. With the great weather in California, we filled our days with outdoors-y activities – swimming (yes, it was 80+ for two days), biking, visiting museums, etc. It felt so good to close the laptop for a few days.
Now that we’re back, I feel refreshed to begin another busy work week. I did catch a small cold over the weekend so I’ll be drinking up on fluids and getting myself back to normal.
Have a great start to your week!
My changing body is quite obvious now and each day I seem to grow just a bit bigger in the belly area. Can’t believe we are at 25 weeks, almost 26! While time seems to go by very fast, part of me is ready to meet this little fella and get to know him.
This is a short week for most of us and tomorrow we are heading down to LA for the rest of the holiday week. I’m usually not a fan of road trips, but am looking forward to it this time. In my current nesting mode, a nice, peaceful ride seems more enjoyable than rushing through busy airports this week. The weather in LA? (or actually Thousand Oaks where we’ll celebrate Thanksgiving) It’s going to be in the 80’s! I don’t remember the last time I celebrated Thanksgiving in warm weather. Quite a change from the east coast days.
I hope each of you get a chance to take some much needed time off this week to be with family and friends. If you are traveling, wishing you safe travels to your final destination.
It’s hard to believe I’ve been back for a few days now from my Asia trip. Just last week I was on a beautiful Bali beach watching the most gorgeous sunrise.
While the jet lag still lingers, I’ve used some of this “awake” time to comb through the photos we took and start organizing. These pictures were taken during the early days of the trip when I was visiting family in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. We stopped by a beautiful lake area to pay respects to my uncle who passed away this year. It may look like just another ordinary summer day but it was very hot in Taiwan. Every day, the temperatures rose to above 90 degrees. Check back soon for what I did to cool down in the heat!
Dress – White House Black Market (past season, they have very affordable dresses such as this one) / Sandals – J.Crew (other colors available here) / Bag – Coach (similar here) / Hat – J.Crew Sunglasses – Karen Walker
While I was planning for my trip to Taiwan and Bali, I wanted to get a pair of chic flats that was both comfortable and functional. Cue in Tod’s ‘Gommini Driving Flats. The shoe itself weighs little to nothing and is easy on the feet. Furthermore, the suede material is super soft to the touch. I could really get a pair in every color of the rainbow.
Do you have any favorite brands you go to for a stylish and comfortable pair of flats? Please share!
This post is dedicated to an oldie but goodie. This navy blue shift dress has been in rotation from work to weddings to bridal showers to you-name-it, for the last 3 years. The shape is flattering and the neckline details are perfect. That navy color is also always on trend. Thanks, Banana Republic, for creating a wonderful, timeliness dress! To many more years. xoxo
Dress – Banana Republic (similar for this season) / Shoes – Nine West x InStyle (past season, also love this pair) / Clutch – Proenza Schouler / Necklace – J.Crew (similar here) / Sunglasses – Karen Walker
Keeping it quite casual for today’s post. In honor of ‘Throwback Thursdays’ these are some photos I shot last weekend while out running errands. It’s truly a throwback because I don’t usually wear sneakers out if I’m not headed to the gym or about to go for a run / hike / <insert exercise activity>. The times that I do step out in sneakers during the day are rare, and the last time I remember this happening is as a graduate student. Why the change? It might be because the pair I’m wearing here is so classic and iconic…the Nike Air Pegasus. It’s a fashion statement on it’s own!
Two more days until the weekend…so ready over here! Have a great day!
Some weekends just call for a simple and casual outfit. The shirtdress is the perfect answer. It takes you from running errands to lunch to a coffee date. I love this chambray version because it is a great color for spring and easy to style. My new Converse kicks gives the whole look that ‘California casual’ vibe. You’ll definitely be seeing this dress often on the blog! I can’t wait to pair it with some wedge heels for a bit of glamour.
Happy Monday! xoxo
