I hope you all had a great weekend and were able to spend time with family for Mother’s Day! This was my first Mother’s Day and my two boys (husband + baby) treated me to a sweet brunch with a lakeside view and pampered me with flowers, cards, and gifts. While we couldn’t eliminate all the baby fussiness on Sunday (he’s 2 months old!), baby A gave plenty of coos, smiles, and giggles. Our ‘talks’ always melt my heart. This was also my first time back in heels (not pictured) since the delivery and it felt so good! Looking forward to inching my way back to more heel-wearing goodness.
Hope you have a great start to the week!

Hey, it’s Friday! I am still a little jet-lagged from our recent vacation so I can’t complain that this was a three-day work week for me. I know many of you are prepping/shopping and looking forward to Mother’s Day this weekend (what are some of your plans?). While I won’t be seeing my mom in person this time (she lives on the east coast), I’ll be giving her a call on Sunday. She and the rest of my family plan to visit us next month, so I was thinking about what we could do when she is in town, sort of like a belated Mother’s Day…
I would start the day by taking her to brunch — find a great place with delicious mimosas and a tasty frittata. Then I’d find an outdoor patio where we could talk for hours over coffee and dessert. Since she lives farther away, any time we see each other it’s usually a marathon chatting session to catch-up. Sounds like a plan.
Enjoy your Friday and I hope you get to spend quality time with your mom (and family) this weekend. Have a wonderful weekend! xoxo
It’s Friday! I decided not to do a gift guide this year for Mother’s Day and instead share a more thoughtful gift we can all give our moms on this ‘holiday’. Our time. What better way to express your love to mom than spending a full day with her? I don’t just mean grabbing some french toast and coffee at brunch, but truly spending some quality time and doing activities that allow us to share conversation, laughs…and yes, coffee, with mom. Here are some ideas…
1. Start the day at your favorite art museum
2. Grab lunch to go and sit outside at a park or in a garden
3. Walk off lunch with a little shopping
4. Take a breather from all the shopping with afternoon tea and some sweets
5. End the day with a family style meal and let mom open her presents!
Have a wonderful weekend and a happy Mother’s Day to all moms out there!
