Happy Monday! I am currently in NYC enjoying a short break from work. We attended my good college friend’s gorgeous wedding in Riverhead, NY. It felt like I was back in wine country in California. My amazing friend and the bride, Charlotte, did a lot of the decor and design herself. So creative and beautiful. It was a wonderful wedding and a chance for me to catch up with many friends who live on the east coast and whom I went to school with. I am an east coast girl at heart and it feels great to be back!
I’m currently sitting in a coffee shop owned by a high school classmate, Gregory Zamfotis, called Gregory’s Coffee. And where else but in the Fashion District! This has been a dream of his and I’m really happy he’s made it happen. I had the espresso (of course) and it was really good. Stop by if you’re ever in the Big Apple.
Hope you are having a good start to the week. I head back to the Bay Area tomorrow! xoxo

If you follow me on Instagram (stylebarsv), you know that I was in New York this past weekend celebrating my best friend’s bachelorette party. It was an unforgettable weekend of good laughs, great food, the best company, and maybe a few shots here and there for the bride-to-be.
One thing I realized later was that I probably should have worn some flats during the weekend. Instead, I wore booties (with thick heels, mind you) and left the Big Apple with a few blisters. The thing is…I’m not a flats kind of gal. I’ve worn sky-high heels for as long as I can remember, from office work pumps to going out stilettos. I mean, who doesn’t know the old adage: every outfit looks better with some heels. Am I right? Well I decided it’s time I get myself a pair or two (I own probably two pairs and one is not really work-worthy) and scoured some favorite fashion sites for ideas. At the end of the day these caught my eye and I have to say, flats that are “classic with a twist” are super chic!
Bright flats (with ankle-straps, even better)
Patient, Pointy-toe flats

Let wedding season begin! I am leaving for NYC tonight for my best friend’s bachelorette party and this marks the start of many wedding celebrations for friends this year. I have been waiting for this weekend for ages and really can’t wait to celebrate with all my close friends! It will be a reunion of sorts…almost all my childhood friends from grade school (and onwards) will be in attendance. And we will be in the Big Apple of all places. I remember when I had my bachelorette in NYC two years ago. It was so great to be back to the east coast and see all the familiar places and faces. It’s time to bring sexy back for an unforgettable weekend!
Hmm, what to wear, what to wear…
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
