Fall Essential Accessories

Fall Essential Accessories

I’m sharing some fall essential accessories today!  A cozy cape sweater and walkable ankle booties are perfect to go pick some pumpkins this weekend.  Planning to go out on the town?  Grab that chic motorcycle jacket and a pair of pointy toe ankle booties.  Now, you’re all set for all your fall activities!

First month with a newborn…check!  It has been a crazy and intense, yet amazing first month with baby A.  Unfortunately, the blog has been low in priority so sorry for the hiatus these last couple of weeks.  Now that we’re in month two, baby is cooing and ‘talking’ to us and we’re getting so many social smiles.  It makes these difficult weeks all worth it!

We decided to take advantage of the gorgeous spring weekend and take baby out for an afternoon stroll.  It gave me the opportunity to put on something other than pj’s.  While hazy, the last two pictures were taken from our walk (from my iPhone).  I am sans accessories – especially a handbag – since, with baby, you don’t always have the hands to carry one.  This striped dress (always love my stripes!) was a maternity dress I bought during the pregnancy but never wore.  It’s easy to put on and hides some postpartum weight I still have to lose.

It’s a brand new week so I hope your Monday is off to a great start!

Brand New Month

bumble bumble2 bumble3

We are now a few days into a brand new month…March!  There are so many things to look forward to this month: the birth of our baby (yes, we’re still waiting!), March Madness, the arrival of spring, Spring Break for those of you who are lucky enough to have one, and the list goes on.  I look forward to March each year mostly because I can taste spring hanging out right around the corner.

We were back in Los Altos this past weekend and found another great brunch spot, Bumble.  I first heard of the place from Jeanne of Shop Sweet Things, and the moment I went to Bumble’s website, I saw that it was a super cute spot right in the heard of downtown Los Altos.  The food was delicious and healthy and they even have a kids playroom attached to the main restaurant so that you can drop off your kids while you brunch.  Perfect for us as parents-to-be.

I also stumbled across this adorable apartment complex and had to take a few outfit shots…I mean, how perfect is that blue front door?

Hope you’re having a wonderful week and thanks for stopping by!

I’m about a week away from my due date so it’s just a waiting game right now.  Running out of clothes to wear soon!  I’ve been working from home all week (which keeps me busy), and putting on the final touches to the nursery.  I’m feeling excited and scared at the same time, but so looking forward to meeting this little guy!

Los Altos

Starting around a month ago, cooking was the last thing on my mind, especially on the weekends.  During this pregnancy, we’ve gone out to eat a lot — not only to capture last few precious date nights, but also to explore as many local restaurants as possible for future take-out / delivery options once baby arrives.

This past weekend, we decided to venture out to a new town: Los Altos.  I’ve heard it’s a great place to live, with beautiful homes, luscious foliage, and all in all the perfect place to raise a family.  While in search for brunch, we found a very charming downtown area and spent a good few hours exploring this town.  We grabbed brunch at Voyageur Du Temps, a French-meets-Japanese bakery with bright, fresh, modern decor.  We walked down Main Street and popped into local shops and found even more delectable bakeries and restaurants.  Los Altos is a little gem of a neighborhood, nestled next to Mountain View and Sunnyvale and we’ll certainly be back, next time with baby stroller in tow.  That matcha croissant is calling my name!

38 Weeks

We had an amazing few days of great weather earlier this week (sorry, East Coast friends) and I think I may have become more tan.  It was so warm and sunny that I ran errands in no more than a t-shirt, skirt, and sandals as you see above.  Moreover, the baby bump tends to act like a furnace keeping me more snug than normal so I felt like I was baking under the sun.

We officially have 2 weeks to go!  I’ve found that stretchy skirts and long dresses with no waistline are my go-to these days.  Pants have definitely hit their tightness and no longer feel comfortable to wear for long periods of time.  The nursery is also coming along nicely.  We had our glider delivered last weekend, crib and mattress delivered this week, and we’re just putting on the finishing decor touches.  I can’t wait to share the nursery reveal soon on the blog.

So happy it’s a short week this week – hope you’re having a good one!

35 weeks

Happy Monday!  As you can see the baby bump is growing larger than ever.  I’ve been drawn to wearing neutral colors these days, especially gray.  Funny, because the baby’s nursery is mostly white and gray as well.  Guess it’s the color of the moment for me.  Can’t believe we are at almost 35 weeks!  Have a great week!

32 Weeks

We are officially in the single digits in this pregnancy countdown!  How time flies.  We had a cold front most of last week so I pulled out this cape to wear during a stroll in downtown San Francisco.  It was the perfect ‘coat’ keeping me warm the whole day and sure felt like I had a blanket on.  Capes have been a trend this fall and winter and I love how it’s a stylish alternative to a long winter coat.  As I grow bigger in the belly area, there are few things left that I feel comfortable in…this cape is a keeper!

Stripes and Kicks

Happy Wednesday!  It continues to be a crazy week in the work department, so I treasure the days (mostly weekends) when I have some down time and can just sit with a magazine and read to my heart’s content.  I know it’s only Wednesday, but I’m looking forward to the weekend already!

My bump is growing ever so much each week and today I hit 21 weeks.  I’ve been wearing shift dresses non-stop because it’s such a cinch to put on in the morning and 9.9 out of 10 times, the dress fits!  Here I am captured under another sunny day in one of my new favorite striped dresses with faux leather trim sleeves.  I am ready to leave the house to play some mini golf.  Since it was going to be a big walking day, I wore my Converse All-Stars.  A chic, but functional and sporty look, no?

Hope you are having a great day!
