Good morning and happy Thursday! I have been traveling a lot lately and capturing images via Instagram. Here’s a taste of what I’ve been up to from my Instagram page. It is shaping up to be quite a busy summer and I will be back on the road again this Memorial Day long weekend! Please find my latest photos on Instagram at EspressowithEm. Have a great day!
Hey, it’s Friday! I am still a little jet-lagged from our recent vacation so I can’t complain that this was a three-day work week for me. I know many of you are prepping/shopping and looking forward to Mother’s Day this weekend (what are some of your plans?). While I won’t be seeing my mom in person this time (she lives on the east coast), I’ll be giving her a call on Sunday. She and the rest of my family plan to visit us next month, so I was thinking about what we could do when she is in town, sort of like a belated Mother’s Day…
I would start the day by taking her to brunch — find a great place with delicious mimosas and a tasty frittata. Then I’d find an outdoor patio where we could talk for hours over coffee and dessert. Since she lives farther away, any time we see each other it’s usually a marathon chatting session to catch-up. Sounds like a plan.
Enjoy your Friday and I hope you get to spend quality time with your mom (and family) this weekend. Have a wonderful weekend! xoxo
It’s Friday – we made it through the week! How gorgeous is this tabletop arrangement? It looks so inviting and the perfect setup for a cozy dinner party. Check out more details here for how to arrange a similar setting for your next get-together.
Pies, pies, pies. Here’s adding a twist to the mix. How about sweet potato pie?
I just love the color maroon, or pinot noir, or oxblood, however you want to call it. This coat is on my wishlist for sure.
If you always wanted to know how to do a smokey eye step-by-step, look no further! For the pros, this is a quick refresher.
Cardigans are making a major comeback. Loved how Apartment 34 styled hers in this fun and glam photo shoot.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone, whether you are flying home, out and about town, or staying in! xoxo
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Here in the Bay area, we are experiencing some great weather thanks to the indian summer. I had an amazing dinner at Nopa on Saturday with some close friends and wore this outfit for a night out in San Francisco. Did not need a jacket all night! By the way, I am getting so much wear from this J.Crew Crystal Wildflowers necklace (you’ll be seeing it more on the blog for sure).
October is just flying by already. I have a busy week ahead and my major goal is to successfully on-board a new Business Analyst onto my team. Have a fantastic Monday and thanks for stopping by the blog!
Zara Peplum top (seen here and here) / William Rast Jeans / Prabal Gurung for Target Heels (also seen here) / Chanel Grand Shopper Tote bag / ASOS Leopard Belt (out of stock, similar version here) / J.Crew Crystal Wildflowers necklace / J.Crew Square Pave Link bracelet (loving this one) / Prada sunglasses
Happy Friday! As we’re winding down another whirlwind busy week, who’s ready for the weekend? (both hands raised here) Depending on weather, I hope to make it down to Santa Cruz tomorrow for a day trip / quick getaway. Only a few precious summer weekends left…how are you spending it? Have a great day and weekend everyone!

It was a low key weekend for me as I got back to my usual routine. After a few days back at work, the weekend could not have come sooner! One of my favorite activities in Europe (particularly Italy) was to go to ‘walk-up’ coffee bars, grab an espresso, and be on my way. How I miss these walk up coffee bars. On Sunday, I decided to go out for coffee at one of my favorite Bay area coffee shops, Philz Coffee. They customize each cup based on how you like it – you pick the beans and then specify L/M/H for cream and sugar. Soo good! The hubby and I decided to linger for a while, snap some photos, and reminisce about our trip. It was the perfect start to a casual Sunday.
Ann Taylor top (old, another pretty style), Insight Floral Shorts (old, love this one), BCBG Edie Bag (also seen here and here), Sam Edelman sandals (also here), Corsani necklace (from Florence, Italy)
Let wedding season begin! I am leaving for NYC tonight for my best friend’s bachelorette party and this marks the start of many wedding celebrations for friends this year. I have been waiting for this weekend for ages and really can’t wait to celebrate with all my close friends! It will be a reunion of sorts…almost all my childhood friends from grade school (and onwards) will be in attendance. And we will be in the Big Apple of all places. I remember when I had my bachelorette in NYC two years ago. It was so great to be back to the east coast and see all the familiar places and faces. It’s time to bring sexy back for an unforgettable weekend!
Hmm, what to wear, what to wear…
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
Happy February! Wow, can’t believe the month of January is over! It’s been a super busy week with work-related activities so I’m very happy it’s Friday. I’ve got a full weekend planned that includes catching up with ‘ole friends over good food and wine (my favorite!).
With February on our doorstep, Valentine’s Day approaching, Chinese New Year in the not-too-distant-future, and a spout of warmer weather, I’ve been thinking about everything spring…spring colors, spring cleaning, spring make-overs, spring collections. I know we’re not quite there yet as I know some parts of the country are still frigid, but it’s nice to know that spring is tip-toeing near.
As a little inspiration, here’s what I’m loving right now all in festive, spring colors:
Be cheery before you make your morning espresso with this one from DeLonghi:
Keep the winter doldrums at bay with this yellow striped bedding from West Elm
Swap out your make-up greys and browns with a little bit of pink and purple:
Perk up your ‘ole standard iPad carrying case with some hot pink from Clare Vivier
Look forward to reading by the coffee table or eating at the dinner table with some Anthropologie pastel flower vases
Have a great weekend everyone! Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Friday! I am currently in Denver, CO for a long weekend. The hubby and I are visiting both of our sisters (my sister recently found a new job and his sister has lived in the area for…forever). I’ve only been to Colorado for skiing so feeling super excited for our plans this weekend! On the agenda will be a brewery tour, some yummy dinners in downtown, and hopefully some sight-seeing. Of course, I hope to get some shopping in and see what fabulous finds Denver has to offer!
