Good morning! Here’s another bold-colored, fall dress I wore over the weekend while on the east coast. I love the shape of this dress: the boat neck shoulders moving to a sleek pencil skirt at the bottom. It was perfect for the warm weather we were experiencing in New Jersey. While I don’t normally wear head-to-toe red, this red was the right shade of bright and warm…and quite eye-catching!
So close to the weekend!
I’m sure you’ve heard the old ‘adage’ that “every girl’s closet needs some stripes” or “you can never go wrong with stripes”. Well, it’s true. A striped shirt (especially navy against white) is a versatile wardrobe MVP. You can dress it with a floral skirt, pair it down with denim, or mix ‘n match with a trench coat or blazer. As summer slowly winds down, I’ve been wearing my striped shirts as a layering piece. This outfit would also look great with a long trench vest –> for example, see what I’m currently coveting right now over to the right!
Happy Monday, friends! I am back from a short trip to Chicago. This past weekend we celebrated my childhood friend’s wedding. The wedding was held at a beautiful church right in the middle of Michigan Avenue. What can I say, the wedding was gorgeous, the weather was perfect, and the ceremony was full of love. I’m so happy for my friend, Kat, and her husband and wish them wedded bliss each and every day.
These pictures were taken outside the church right near the courtyard. The church’s architecture and grandeur creates the most enchanting backdrop for photos. I hope to share more pictures from the wedding in a future post. Have a great start to the week!
Happy Monday! I am currently in NYC enjoying a short break from work. We attended my good college friend’s gorgeous wedding in Riverhead, NY. It felt like I was back in wine country in California. My amazing friend and the bride, Charlotte, did a lot of the decor and design herself. So creative and beautiful. It was a wonderful wedding and a chance for me to catch up with many friends who live on the east coast and whom I went to school with. I am an east coast girl at heart and it feels great to be back!
I’m currently sitting in a coffee shop owned by a high school classmate, Gregory Zamfotis, called Gregory’s Coffee. And where else but in the Fashion District! This has been a dream of his and I’m really happy he’s made it happen. I had the espresso (of course) and it was really good. Stop by if you’re ever in the Big Apple.
Hope you are having a good start to the week. I head back to the Bay Area tomorrow! xoxo
How was your weekend? I wore this outfit to a sushi double-date dinner over the weekend. The skirt’s linen and silk blend makes it a favorite in my closet this spring. Plus, stripes are always a great idea. Dress it up with a pair of heeled sandals (as seen here) or dress it down with some flats.
This week, I’m looking at three more days until a much-needed vacation. But hey, who’s counting? 🙂
Have a wonderful week! xoxo
Keeping it simple today with a leather skirt and sweater. With an edgier skirt like this one, I chose to pair it with a top in a similar color tone. It is a perfect look for those days where it’s not quite warm and not quite cold. Wear this with flats during the day and take it into night with some strappy heels.
Happy Thursday! xoxo
One way to refresh your wardrobe this spring is with a pair of white jeans. They absolutely go with everything…tees, button-downs, blazers. I found this pair of Current Elliott jeans on The Outnet the other day and I have been wearing them non-stop. The best part is the stretchy material…allowing me to get in and out easily. I will definitely be wearing this pair into summer.
I was on my way to the coffee shop here–after a very full weekend of birthday celebrations for the hubby. From grabbing dinner and drinks in downtown San Francisco to throwing a mexican-themed party, I was quite the party planner this weekend!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Please share in the comments below what your closet staple is this spring! xoxo
What a gorgeous weekend we had in the Bay Area. I know it might be premature to wear heeled sandals in March, but we hit close to 80 degrees! I pulled out this summer dress from the closet for a coffee run. Looks like it *might* be time to swap out the cashmere sweaters for some summer wear.
My sister came over this weekend for a short visit. It was great to catch up with her and have sisterly bonding time…something that is scarce these days since we are both so busy with our jobs. She’s thinking of taking time off to focus on personal interests. Have you ever taken a leave of absence from work? Sounds like such a good idea…
Happy Monday all! Have a fabulous start to your week. xoxo
